Vetjaa talks bikes

Local entrepreneur, William Baloyi, better known as Vetjaa by biker fans, spared a couple of minutes of his time to chat with BONUS about his Suzuki GSXR 1000cc.

POLOKWANE – Baloyi hails from Ga-Mashashane, and he is the Assistant Sergeant for the Sapa Yopa Motorcycle Club.

Q. What bike do you ride?

A. A Suzuki GSXR 1000cc.

Q. Growing up, what was your dream bike?

A. Growing up I was more interested in cars than bikes, until I bought one.

Q. What was the first bike you rode?

A. My first bike was a Honda CBR 1000cc Fireblade.

Q. When did you buy your latest toy?

A. I bought it a year ago, brand new.

Q. What was the price tag?

A. It was around at R89 000.

Q. What are some of the features that stand out and you appreciate most in the bike?

A.The Yoshimura exhaust system (a screamer), and the braided hoses braking system.

Q. What’s the highest speed you ever did with this bike?

A. It’s pretty fast, however, we always try by all means to abide to the 120 km/h law.

Q. Do you have a nickname for your bike?

A. Yes, I call it Patla.

Q. How far have you driven this bike?

A. I once drove it to Durban and I didn’t experience any problem in the road.

Q. What do you wish to drive after this one?

A. My favourite bike is a Ducati 1299 Panigale S, I am dying to own it one day.

Q. What did you change on the bike?

A. The standard braking system has been upgraded to braided hoses as it’s safer.

Q. How much did you spend on pimping your bike and do you think it was worth it? Why?

A. I spend R6 000 and it was to increase the efficiency of the brakes because safety comes first.
