Charles charms his way into many hearts

DJ Charmanizer says he plans to make big waves in the music industry

SEKGWENG – Charles Lesiba Letsoalo, better known as DJ Charmanizer, grew up in the rural area of Ga-Molepo, Sekgweng and says his aim is to enrich lives. The young man is living proof that where you are born does not define where you will end up in life.

“I used to dream of moving to the more developed areas so that I could expand my horizons in music and broadcasting,” he explains. Little did he know he could achieve his goals from his hometown. The radio presenter and house DJ says he is surprised at how his life turned out and is looking forward to what is yet to come.

He says there is much more he plans to contribute to the industry but more importantly, he wants to prove that local people are just as talented as people from bigger cities and can compete on a global level.

The 26-year-old released his hit,  Nnyakise mosadi in September and says, “Local artists don’t get enough exposure, that is why some people give up on their careers.” He says people need to invest where they come from so that they can influence and empower others.

Charles ventured into the music business in 2009 and fell in love with it. He says although he was a quiet child, making music is his instrument to unleashing his emotions and his way of communicating. The third-year policing student at the Tshwane University of Technology joined the Comrade Tshepho FM family earlier this year and is loving the experience.

He advises other young people never to give up on their dreams and not to allow their circumstances to determine their futures.
