iRock festival has fans screaming for more

More than 40 000 people danced the night away to top-class acts such as Euphonik and Shekinah...

POLOKWANE – Boss Zonke hit-maker Ricky Rick brought the house down at the Polokwane Rugby Field during the DStv iRock festival on Saturday.

He took off his T-shirt, and sneakers mid-performance to the delight of all the ladies in the crowd.

More than 40 000 people danced the night away to top-class acts such as Euphonik and Shekinah, the darling of the crowd, unaware that BET Award-winner Black Coffee slapped AKA’s road manager, Tshiamo Letshwene, on stage.

DJ Ganyani, Mobi Dixon and Sphectacula and Naves kept the discs spinning throughout the night and the energy-filled group Mafikizolo had fans screaming for more as they performed their much-loved hits.

The crowd went crazy when rising star Kwesta took to the stage and gave a great performance.The party went on until the early hours of the morning.

This year the DStv iRock Festival kicked-started on Thursday at Meropa Casino with a comedy festival. Thabang ER, Thapelo Kingflat, Tol ass mo, Pastor A, and Chris Mapane kept comedy-lovers glued to their seats.

Friday’s pre-party at Jembe Tavern promised a showcase with Wololo hit-maker Babes Wodumo headlining the gig but she was a no-show. This did not stop anyone in attendance from enjoying the live music and warm atmosphere.

DStv iRock Limpopo was presented by Nedbank, Media 24, Bacardi, Red Bull, Limpopo Provincial Government, Tourism Limpopo, Polokwane Municipality, and Mall of the North.
