POLOKWANE – What better way to celebrate the warmer months than with a circus?

Shoppers at Mall of the North will be welcomed by the colourful sight of the white, yellow and purple tent village of the Aussie Circus Spectacular as of tomorrow.

Their first show is set to take place on Friday and they will entertain residents, both young and old, daily until 9 October.

The Aussie Circus Spectacular has been making big waves all over South Africa during the year with some of their previous stops being Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London, Bloemfontein, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Mbombela (Nelspruit).

They will be on South African shores until the end of the year before embarking to Asia for their international tour.

Aside from plenty of tongue-in-cheek Australian humour, there will also be a number of daring, gravity-defying acts, such as a human cannonball soaring over the crowd, and the aptly named Globe of Death stunt.

The Globe of Death is the centre piece for some serious stunts including motorbikes swarming around a dancing figure.

High adrenaline and high-octave action await, with plenty of FMX (freestyle motocross) antics to keep motor-heads and adventure addicts spellbound.

The show blends stunning cirque artistry and acrobatics on the ground and in the air with hilarious slapstick comedy, mysterious illusion and extreme stunts into a perfect blen of family entertainment.

Aussie Circus Spectacular Executive Producer, Sebastian Cassie, said: “We included Polokwane in our tour because we knew it would be well received and we believe there was a hunger for our kind of show. We think there will be a particular interest in the high-octane motorbike acts that are our specialty”.

The circus is just in time for the school holidays with options for morning, afternoon, and evening shows ideal to keep the kids entertained.

Tickets are available from Computicket.com, Shoprite, Checkers, and any House & Home store and range between R200 to R400 for adults and R150 to R350 for children under the age of 14 and groups of 10 or more booking together, depending on seating preference.
