Local starlet lights up the small screen
Oratile Maitisa is a dynamic young woman who has taken the entertainment industry by storm with her talented acting.
POLOKWANE – The 17-year-old actress, who hails from Seshego Zone 1, currently plays the role of Eunice on the hit series Skeem Saam.
Oratile explained how she got into the world of acting
“I was encouraged to try my hand at acting by my brother and my modelling coach who suggested I go and audition for the role on Skeem Saam at Thobela FM. I made it through the auditions and started on the show in 2013,” she explained.
Like most other actors, Oratile said people often refer to her by her character she plays on Skeem Saam but she explained that it does not bother her at all.
“It is a huge compliment for me that people find my character so recognisable. I do not get offended if they cannot differentiate between Eunice and Oratile because they love the character I portray so much. It makes me know I do my job great if people recognise me as Eunice and perhaps don’t know my real name.”
Although she is already flying the Limpopo flag high, she plans to do even more to put the province on the map. She said she plans to further her studies in an effort to perfect her craft. She plans to enroll at the Africa Film Drama Art (AFDA) School to hone her acting skills by studying a BA degree in live performance.
