POLOKWANE – Braids are among some of the traditional hairstyles which have been a part of the beauty industry for a very long time due to its popularity.
She says braids are easy to maintain and good to protect the hair from harsh weather conditions because they only require oil sheen and mousse to be applied every now and then to keep them looking great and healthy.
Laide says most braided hairstyles have a lifespan of about four weeks and that braids suit any hair type from afro to fluffy hair and suit any face shape.
“A good stylist will be able to know which style will best suit a client just by looking at their face,” she explains. She says while the style is timeless, it also offers a unique beautiful feature with a touch of sophistication. Laide explains that the hairstyle is suitable for both young and old and she recommends parents to try the hairstyle on their children because the style prevents the hair from frizzing.
The Polokwane based stylist says braids also come in a variety of colours, however, black and brown remain the most popular. She explains that a variety of colours can be combined to create a unique and eye catching style.
