Local reflexologist unveils the path to inner peace

A long-time dream of reflexologist, Lizel Britz finally came true recently when she announced the completion of a labyrinth in the city.

POLOKWANE –  “It has always been my dream to build a labyrinth. I started telling people about the benefits of a labyrinth a while ago and now, a few short months after I proposed the idea, my dream has been realised,” says Brits.

The labyrinth is situated on the property of Bolivia Lodge where people from the community can come and walk the path at leisure.

Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has only one path. The hedges are not high and the path is clear so the aim is not to find a way out but to experience the journey. Most people report experiencing peace, joy and wellbeing as a result of walking the labyrinth’s unicursal path.

“The labyrinth is designed as a tool for people to receive, reflect and mediate, to pray and to discover their sacred inner space. The mystery of the labyrinth is the effect it has on each person. It is an outward symbol for inner peace and brings spiritual awareness to our modern society,” Britz explains.

The wall behind the labyrinth will be painted in due time.

“I would like to thank the sponsors for making it possible for people in the city to experience the benefits of a labyrinth,” says Britz.
