Local talent needs your votes

Stand-up comedian Rale Kumentreh Malatji is appealing to Limpopo residents to vote for him in the Savanna Comics' Choice Awards

POLOKWANE – The award ceremony is set to take place at Monte Casino on 3 September.

Born in Seshego, Rale started doing stand-up comedy in 2010 and has trained five local comedians since then.

“I am over the moon that I am up for nomination. It’s nice to know my work is being recognised. This will definitely give me courage to take my career even further. I am not nominated yet, people have to vote for me to be nominated for a spot in the top five in the Audience Choice Comedian category,” Rale explains.

“Comedy in Limpopo is on a different level now, entertainers from our province have proven they can compete with the best in the country. It’s a great feeling to be one of the people representing Limpopo in such a good light.”

This is why people should vote for him. “It will open many doors to the people of the province,” says Rale. “I want to empower people, to help get the youth working toward solid careers and away from crime and drugs”.

He further says he will compete against well-known South African comedians such as Mashabela Galane, Collen Salesman Chepi, and Kagiso Lediga in the Non-English and Audience Choice Comedian categories.

To vote for Rale, SMS 72747 to 37303. Twenty votes per cell phone number are allowed. Voting closes 21 July.
