Some Limpopo entities are showcasing their products at the indaba

POLOKWANE – Tourism minister, Derek Hanekom, says South Africa is now experiencing a spectacular growth in tourist arrivals than last year, where there were challenges that resulted in dwindling tourism numbers.

Hanekom spoke during the opening of the Tourism Indaba in Durban on Friday.

He said all indications were that 2016 was a bumper year for tourism in South Africa, adding that tourism was poised for growth across Africa.

“Africa is a vibrant melting pot for tourism: the diverse cultures, customs and traditions of our people, merged with the endless variety of our landscapes, blended with our unique biodiversity, and fired by the spirit of freedom and equality. As tourism succeeds, the continent succeeds, and millions of people benefit from this success,” said Hanekom.
