Sapa Yopa goes countrywide

The success of the Sapa Yopa Motorcycle Club and the fast pace it is growing is evident in their latest achievement of turning into a national club

POLOKWANE – The fastest growing motorcycle club in Limpopo recently spread their wings and turned into a national club with members joining countrywide.

“We are no longer just a Limpopo club. A lot of interest from all over the country has brought about that I have made the choice to take Sapa Yopa national,” says Sapa Yopa Motorcycle Club president, Sarel Nong.

He says Sapa Yopa’s going national means that the club will open branches all over South Africa. Each branch will be managed by a general, Nong will remain the president of the club, and the Limpopo Sapa Yopa branch will become the club’s headquarters.

“I believe the club might even go international soon. We received a request from around 35 bikers from Botswana who want to join the club and carry our colours,” Nong says.

He adds there is already a branch of Sapa Yopa in Gauteng and it is fast moving to the other provinces. As the president, he says he is proud that something which started in Limpopo has now grown in size to include the other provinces.

“I never thought it would grow this fast or this big. During our runs we have become more and more visible and through our charity work more and more people have seen us as bikers who care about other people and riders. Even the Department of Tourism, both in Limpopo and national, are getting on board to assist the club with big events that has in the past seen interest from all over the world as far away as Japan. I am proud to be part of it all and never thought that Sapa Yopa would become the hub in Limpopo which will connect bikers from all over the country and the world.”
