POLOKWANE – Their menu ranges from ribs and chips, wings and chips, dagwood and chips, quarter leg and chips, to pap and steak and pap and wings.
The restaurant is situated in Freedom Drive and offers everything delicious in one centrally located restaurant.
It can cater for approximately 30 seated customers and offers a relaxing atmosphere and comfortable environment.
Ghetto Restaurant head chef, Nelly Hlahla, told Review Bonus they decided to open a restaurant because they wanted to offer the community something unique and delicious food without them needing to travel into the city to enjoy a good meal.
The restaurant opened its doors in 2014 and employs around four people and Hlahla says they serve over 200 customers daily.
The mother of three says she has always loved cooking and often tried new recipes she found in magazines.
“I started cooking at a very young age so as I grew older one of the chores I was responsible for in the house was cooking and I loved it, so it was just logical to make an income doing something I love.”
It is her belief that food should be attractively presented so it is a treat for the tastebuds and the eyes and that is why Ghetto Restaurant’s food looks as good as it tastes.
Hlahla says her goal is to expand the restaurant and to have branches all over Seshego and become a definite destination for tourists who visit the province.
She told Bonus she plans to launch another branch in Seshego Zone 6 in April. “Our food is in high demand and we seized the opportunity to expand to cater to our customers’ requests.”
