Clash of the Choirs not a walk in the park

Tshegofatso Mbambala talks about being part of the reality TV show, Clash of the Choirs SA for a second time

POLOKWANE – Local singer, Tshegofatso Mbambala, who formed part of Team Penny Penny in the reality TV show, Clash of the Choirs SA season three, says she was disappointed when the team was eliminated from the competition.

She says the competition was not a walk in the park, but the team did exceptionally well and she was happy with all their performances.

This was not Mbambala’s first time on the show. She was part of Judith Sephuma’s team in season one, and says her experience shaped the team.

“Teams consist of 18 singers, but one singer walked away from our team after feeling the heat. She said she did not like how things were done in our group and decided to walk away. We worked day and night and our wish was to make it to the top three,” says Mbambala.

She says Penny Penny is a very easy person to work with and he supported the team a lot.

Mbambala further says Team Penny Penny is now a real choir named Vocal Instrument and has already recorded its first single titled My journey.

The choir plans to take the province by musical storm in April after the Clash of the Choirs SA season three is done. The group’s contract in the competition is still valid hence it is not allowed to release a single and or album until the end of the competition.

“We urge the residents of Limpopo to support us so we can grow. We need sponsorship and a booking agent to assist the team with gigs,” says Mbambala.

Penny Penny was contacted for comment but said he could not say anything about the competition at the moment as the group still has a valid contract with DStv.

“We can only talk about the competition when it is done airing on television. We have a very good relationship with DStv and I don’t want to ruin it,” Penny Penny explained.
