1st Miss Segopye ready to conquer the world

Nicole Thobejane (15), a Gr 10 learner from Mountainview Senior Secondary School in Mankweng, was recently crowned the first Miss Segopje 2015

POLOKWANE – “Being crowned as Miss Segopje 2015 really means a lot to me as it was always my wish to win a beauty pageant. I feel happy, honoured and a little overwhelmed after winning this title.”

These were the words of Nicole Thobejane (15), a Gr 10 learner from Mountainview Senior Secondary School in Mankweng, who was recently  crowned the first Miss Segopje 2015.

Thobejane, says she wants to study film production at Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) after she completes her Gr 12.

She says her mother’s support motivates her and she felt elated to see the pride in her mother’s eyes when she won the title.

“Although it was not always easy, with the support from my family, friends and a little bit of confidence in my abilities, I knew I could make it.

“I just want to thank everyone who helped me get to where I am today.”

She has many plans to aid her community in the future. One of these is to make sure young people are kept off the streets and can go somewhere they can pursue their goals and dreams.

“I look forward to representing my community. The troubles of teenage pregnancy, alcohol and drug abuse are a few I want to help resolve in my community,” Nicole says confidently.

• Miss Segopje 2015 – Nicole Thobejane.

• 1st princess – Tshegofatso Letsoalo.

• 2nd princess – Emily Malebati.
