POLOKWANE – Spreading love through his music is the dream of 23-year-old Keletso Manyaka, popularly known as Braazo Wa Afrika.

He is a DJ who grew up in a small village called Ga-Manyaka in Burgersfort. He discovered his passion for music at an early age and he discovered what he wanted to do in life. “As early as primary school I was the school’s main DJ. I guess it was in my blood from the very start,” he says.

According to him, there are a number of musicians who inspired his unique sound including Glenn Underground, DJ Spent, Afrotraction, and Cool Affair.

He explains his sound is a fusion of jazz and dance music. He calls it soulful house. “The highlight of my career has to be seeing my single Afrikan Sax reaching the number one spot on both YFM and Metro FM charts at the same time. It is something I had always dreamt of,” smiles Manyaka.

He recently released an album with Soulcandi titled Limpopo Selektor Series. He went on to say he is currently working on his solo project which will be released next year.

This hard working young man says he also makes time in his busy schedule to enjoy the finer things in life. “I’m a big comedy fan so I usually attend comedy shows when time allows. Usually I just hang out with friends and catch up, I also like to play football.”

His advice to upcoming musicians is if they are really passionate about music, they need to dedicate a lot of time and effort to their craft and surely the world will notice their talent. “Patience is an important aspect of the industry, it takes time to make a breakthrough, so giving up should never be an option,” he concludes.
