POLOKWANE – Every season a contestant stands out in the Idols South Africa competition, and this season, one of those contestants is Limpopo-born, Mmatema Moremi.
Week after week since the season started, Mmatema has been shining on the Idols stage, and will this Sunday find out if she walks away with the title of South African Idol.
Mmatema grew up in a small village called Moletlane near Zebediela. She studied language practice at the Tshwane University of Technology, where she obtained a Bachelor of Technology.
She has a huge following on both her personal, Mmatema Moremi and official Idols, Idols SA Mmatema Moremi social media accounts.
“The Idols experience has been great so far. I am enjoying every moment of it. It is what I have always wanted: wake up, sing, sing and sing. I enjoy it but it is hectic; there is a lot of hard work behind everything,” she says.
She believes she can win Idols.
“My message to others who want to follow in my footsteps is what I believe is working for me also and that is not to give up on what you believe in and want to do. I have entered Idols three times because I have a dream. Most importantly, believe in yourself and don’t sit back and wait to be praised. Do not be afraid to take a risk,” she adds.
