Whether you are taking on the Bushveld or city streets, the Captur is built higher to allow better visibility, sleeker to turn heads and niftier when taking street corners and weaving through traffic.
Renault has created a compact crossover that unites the best of three worlds: the personality and sturdiness of a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), the functionality and roominess of a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) and the driving pleasure and dynamism of a hatchback. The Captur’s design is expressed through smooth, flowing, even lines. It is superbly practical, agile and ingenious and it exudes originality with its bi-tone paintwork on the Dynamique models to match each individual’s lifestyle.
The interior has everything to help you on even the wildest expeditions from media navigation, Formula 1 inspired turbo engines, Hill Start Assist and even a hands-free card for added peace of mind. The driver and passengers are surrounded by stylish details and the continuous shape of the dashboard and the interior panels envelops you like a cocoon. When it comes to space, the Captur offers ample knee room of up to 21,6 cm for rear passengers. The 1/3-2/3 folding rear bench has three seats, converts into a flat floor and slides on rails, allowing the Captur’s volume to be adjusted and its passenger compartment arranged to suit your needs.
The Captur is available in two petrol turbo engine derivatives. To be the best in their category in terms of driving pleasure, the engines offers a lively response, sharp acceleration and flexibility at all speeds. The Formula 1 technology derived energy engines combine driving pleasure with fuel economy resulting in remarkably moderate fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The 66 kW three cylinder turbo charged engine delivers its power without flinching. The overboost function brings the maximum torque to 150 Nm for more dynamic response and better mid-range acceleration. Fuel consumption is measured at 4,9 litre per 100 km.
Also available is a four cylinder petrol engine offering 88 kW of power and 190 Nm of torque with fuel consumption of 5,4 litre per 100 km. This model is equipped with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox which offers fast and smooth upshifting with no loss in acceleration. Both models come with four airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Assist (EBA), Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD).
