LOCAL artists were nominated for the second Hash Tag Malwela Music Awards at Library Garden auditorium on Friday.

POLOKWANE – LOCAL artists were nominated for the second Hash Tag Malwela Music Awards at Library Garden auditorium on Friday.

The nominations kicked off with several hot performances by local artists.

According to Hash Tag Malwela Music Awards creative director, Cliff Ntimbani, it was very good to see incredible talent that comes from deep rural areas of the province.

“We are very proud of our artists and we are expecting a lot from them.

“The Malwela Music Awards aim to help all young talented artists get the exposure they need and recognises the various music genres. The awards also creates unity among artists,” said Ntimbani.

The awards ceremony will take place on September 5.

Fans can vote for their favourite artist at www.hashtagmalwela.co.za.

“The winners stand a chance to walk away with a recording deal from Kman Records, a digital distribution deal of their album, a photo shoot and album cover design, an artist management contract for one year, a music video shoot with Rent Minds Creative Collaborative Network (rentourminds.com) and website development and hosting.

The Malwela Music Awards nominees:

• Club 86: Natural Hustlerz, Snake Combination, Dan Family, Tseni Money, ZeeSA and Smilly, Nicki B, Gi (kwaito) and Malle (pop).

• Gospel: Sammy Machaka, Hi’ram and Peter Satekge.

• Hash Tag legends: J Ballistic, Royal-T, DMS, T-bose, Morph and Decious.

• Hash Tag new stars: Marvin, Malcom Zee, Xphola, NSE, MSG and Nicki B, Hustlers Choice, Gi(kwaito), DMS, T-bose, Royal-T, Hi’ram and J Ballistic.
