POLOKWANE – Many people living in the city complain that there is not much entertainment for the family over weekends, but this weekend is sure to capture some of these people’s interests.
On Friday, there will be a Cansa Jail and Bail Project at Savannah Mall from 09:30 to 13:00 during which fake summons will be issued and mock arrests made resulting in “court cases” and “fines” being issued. To be released, the fines have to be paid.
This project takes place annually to create awareness and raise money for Cansa.
Those who wish to donate blood can do so at the Engen filling station at Thornhill from 12:00 to 17:00.
On Saturday, there will be a Boeremark at the Bosveld Bar and Grill from 08:00 to 13:00.
The Limpopo bowls pairs finals will also take place on Saturday at the Pietersburg Bowling Club, with the Sun Meropa Golf Challenge taking place at the Polokwane Golf Club, also on Saturday.
South African Talent Championships auditions will be held at the Pietersburg Club at 11:00, while an Open Darts Championships will take place at the Mongoose Pub and Grill from 13:00 to 22:00.
The Super Rugby semi-finals will also be on Saturday. At 09:35 the Hurricanes will play against the Brumbies and at 11:55 the Waratahs will play against the Highlanders.
On Monday, the Wimbledon Tennis Championships will start and continue until July 15.
