Golf enthusiasts test drive new GTI and SV models

POLOKWANE – Volkswagen Polokwane celebrated the launch of the new Golf SV and the new Golf GTI on Saturday.

The day gave motorists the opportunity to test drive the new models.

There was also a jumping castle for the little ones and sausage rolls were also sold.

The Volkswagen Golf SV replaces the Golf Plus, and it is halfway between a people carrier and a traditional family hatchback.

So while it only has five seats rather than seven, VW has increased the height of the car and pushed the wheels as far into the corners as possible, all in order to create more space for passengers and luggage.

The boot, a 1 520 liter capacity, is big enough for several large cases, and a variable height floor comes as standard, allowing the owner of the vehicle to choose more space or a flat loading area.

The firm but supportive seats are easily adjustable to any driving position and the insulation from road and wind noise all make the Golf SV a great car for motorway journeys.

One of the best features on the car, according to test drivers, is the big windows, making it easy to see out of the Golf SV.

“Checking your blindspot on the road or reversing into a tight parking space is made easy by the windows. I love everything about the car and will be looking into buying one in the very near future,” a motorist, Andries Mahapa told Review after his test drive.
