Rabs Vhafuwi needs your vote for FAME

RABELANI "Rabs Vhafuwi" Madula, Count Your Blessings hit album creator, has appealed to Limpopo residents to vote for him in the Film, Arts, Music Entertainment SA Awards (Fame) as Best Entertainer and Best Dance Artist.

LIMPOPO – RABELANI “Rabs Vhafuwi” Madula, Count Your Blessings hit album creator, has appealed to Limpopo residents to vote for him in the Film, Arts, Music Entertainment SA Awards (Fame) as Best Entertainer and Best Dance Artist.

The awards ceremony is set to take place at the University of Limpopo on May 9.

Born in the rural village of Dzimauli in Vhembe, Rabelani Madula earned the name Rabs Vhafuwi because he was making waves as a DJ. Today, most people do not even know his real name, and have become used to calling him Vhafuwi, which means king in Venda.

“I am over the moon that I have been nominated. I can at least now see that my hard work is being recognised. This will definitely give me more courage to even go further.

“I’m very humbled and thankful for what has been going on in my life. I took a big risk when I left my job to pursue my dreams and passion and it’s finally paying off. I thank the almighty God who is making it all possible. I know I will win these awards with the support of the people of Limpopo,” Madula said.

“I’m competing against people like house music legend Ganyani, Chymamusique, Da Capo, Benny Mayengani and Maduvha, but I am sure with the support of my fans, I have a good chance of winning,” he said.

He told Express that this year he was working on Mr Mo’s new album. He is part of Freeze The Moment Productions, which is his label. “It is one of the albums that will shock the whole world. For those that don’t know him, he is the guy that sang Walking Away, track 10 on my album Count Your Blessings,” Madula explained.

“I just want to thank everyone for their support and votes, as well as for encouraging me since day one. They will not be disappointed,” he said.

To vote for Madula as Best Entertainer, SMS 103 to 47052 and for Best Dance Artist, SMS 51 to 47052. Each SMS costs R2 and you can vote as many times as you wish.

Voting closes on May 9 at 12:00.
