POLOKWANE – WHEN Carol Nkambule finally launched her book, From the Pit to the Palace, at Hyundai Thornhill last Saturday, she said her healing process was complete.

She said she worked on this boor for four years and was very happy to share her story with others who might benefit from reading her story.

Nkambule explained that the book tackled issues and reflects the difficult journeys that people have to go through in life.

“We all have lessons to learn from this book. My intention was to encourage others to persevere when they work towards specific goals that they set for themselves,” she said.

“Never allow people to stop you from following your dream. Never let people bring your down and never change who you are for people or to suit your circumstances.”

She explained that writing this book was a healing experience for her, because there were so many issues in her life that she had to deal with before she could move on.

“I had to raise my three daughters as a single mother while I worked on furthering my career and that brought with it so many issues,” Nkambule said.

She thanked all the people who supported her and who stood by her while she pursued a career as writer.

Hyundai senior sales executive, Lucky Mokgawa, said he was happy to work with Nkambule, because she is an inspiration. He said her book was relevant to his life.

“I was raised by a single mother and I understand the issues that Carol deals with in her book. Life was difficult for my family, but with the help of friends and family we were able to overcome these difficulties,” he said.

Mokgawa said Huyndai Thornhill hosted the book launch, because it was their way of reaching out to women who want to empower others.

Nkambule encouraged the guests at her book launch to read more.

“Reading is great exercise for the brain. It expands your general knowledge and empowers each individual,” she said.

She said her next book, Victorious Youth, would be released next year. She said she would dedicate these books to every young South African.
