This show is music to LYO’s ears

The Limpopo Youth Orchestra (LYO) will perform two songs with Tshedi Mholo, the lead singer for popular South African band, Malaika, at the launch of her new solo album, Victory.

POLOKWANE – The Limpopo Youth Orchestra (LYO) will perform two songs with Tshedi Mholo, the lead singer for popular South African band, Malaika, at the launch of her new solo album, Victory.

Mholo says she looks forward to her performance with LYO at the Roodepoort Theatre in Johannesburg next Friday.

“The orchestra is disciplined and good in what they do. I am a big fan of their work and follow all their projects. It is amazing to know that they take children from disadvantaged backgrounds and teach them musical skills to give them opportunities they never had.

“My aim is to create a platform for LYO to get exposure. At the same time, I am linking three different provinces, I am from North-West, but live in Gauteng and will perform with an amazing group with young people, LYO from Limpopo,” Mholo said.

The LYO will accompany Mholo on two songs, Destiny and Ukuphi.

She visited the orchestra on Saturday to finalise all the arrangements for the event.

“We are very excited and honoured to be part of this amazing night. We are thankful to Tshedi Mholo for the opportunity to perform at the launch of her solo album Victory. We know it is going to be lots of fun and a wonderful learning experience,” managing director for LYO, Simoné Aronje-Adetoye, said.
