THE DStv iRock Limpopo Music Festival saw thousands of music fans come together at the Polokwane Rugby Fields on Saturday.

The festival, now in its second year, attracted people from all corners of the province and even from as far as Gauteng. The festival goers danced through the night and had a great time.

As promised by the organisers, the artists who performed at this huge event did not disappoint.

They made it their priority to offer the fans what they came to see and hear.

DJ Fresh was definitely the hit of the evening and the crowd roared their approval of his finely honed skills behind the decks.

He focused on old school house music with quite a few tunes that tugged at the heart strings of remembrance.

Buccie was also a darling of the crowd, while DJ Black Coffee kept the dance floor pumping.

DJ Clock, Micasa, Heavy K, DJ Jawz, Sido and Manana, Cassper Nyovest, Groove Candi Mopedy and award winning Uhuru performed through the night and kept the party going.

Event organiser, Rito Hlongwani, told Express that he was over the moon about the success of the event.

“I was a bit worried about the cold weather, but I am proud to say people did not let the cold deter them from having a good time. Thousands of people came to have fun and to enjoy the quality of the music,” he said.

He thanked the festival goers for their good beha-viour and said there were no incidents of violence or other unpleasant scenes.

Silas Nkonyane tra-velled all the way from Giyani to attend the festival and could not contain his excitement when his favourite band, Micasa, came on stage.

“I came all the way to see these guys. My soul can rest in peace now, because I had the opportunity to see Micasa live,” he said.
