Matamanyane retains title as top 6 casino card game champions
Matamanyane Casino Club successfully defended their title during a recent top six casino card game tournament held in Moletjie, Ga-Chokoe.
POLOKWANE – Matamanyane Casino Club successfully defended their title during a recent top six casino card game tournament held in Moletjie, Ga-Chokoe.
Matamanyane claimed the title after accumulating 138 points. They were followed by Rose Bar Casino Club with 118 points. The third spot was obtained by Bokoma Casino Club with 70 points.
Edgar Mashitisho, Matamanyane Casino Club representative said the club was very committed and they were happy they managed to hang on to the title.
“We were very positive during the tournament.
“The other teams were threatened by our performance, and we will keep up the winning spirit to win more tournaments in the future,” he said.
Bokoma Casino Club is still new to the casino card game, but they managed to claim the third position.
The teams that took part in this tournament included Semenya Casino Club, P.K Casino Club, Piet Casino Club, Matamanyane Casino Club, Rose Casino Club and Bokoma Casino Club.
Mashitisho said the club aimed to develop the sport of casino card game and to host national casino card game tournaments.
“We approached the department of sport, arts and culture so that they can intervene and help us take the sport to the next level. We are still waiting for feedback from the department and we are hoping for the best,” he said.
The casino clubs competed again at Jembe Tavern at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World on Sunday during the Meropa Casino and Entertainment World casino card game tournament.
