Father’s Day at Mall of the North celebrated with classic style

Mall of the North will host a special car show in conjunction with the Limpopo Classic Car Club next week.

The World of Wheels Expo will run from June 11 to 19 at the mall’s parking lot at the restaurant entrance and is part of Mall of the North’s Father’s Day celebrations.

Arrie van Wyk, classic car collector and member of the Classic Car Club, says they expect some 150 classic cars to be exhibited at the World of Wheels Expo.

“We aim to get 150 cars there, but the more cars on display, the better. All classic cars on display will be from the period before 1975. We will even have a 1913 Studebaker horse cart on display,” he says.

Van Wyk says the Limpopo Classic Car Club will also host an auction where at least six classic cars will be sold. The auction will take place on June 14.

The World of Wheels Expo which will not only display classic cars, but the latest models on the market from various car dealerships in Polokwane will also enjoy some time in the spotlight.

Car dealerships will exhibit their latest product line-ups and Volkswagen Polokwane, Limpopo Toyota, Mercurius Motors, Lexus Polokwane, BB Auto Group, Fast Bikes and BB Galactic will take part in this exhibition.

Limpopo Tyres will also show a wide range of their latest brands.

Bronkhorst Crane Hire is expected to show off some of their impressive products.

There will also be boats on display, presented by Brilliant Bass Boats.

Gr. 12 learners are encouraged to visit the World of Wheels Expo to enter a lucky draw where a lucky couple can win the chance to be driven to their matric farewell in one of four vintage cars.
