Creating wealth and thinking creatively

Dr Hannes Dreyer, spoke during a wealth creation workshop at Café Pavilion

“DO not ask what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country.”

This was the advice of wealth creator, Dr Hannes Dreyer, quoting the late American president, John F Kennedy.

Dreyer spoke during a wealth creation workshop at Café Pavilion recently, which was organised by Afr8 Company and attended by young people from across the province. The workshop gave young people tips on how to start their own businesses.

Dreyer, an author of multiple business related books and a prominent business figure was the guest speaker at the workshop. He encouraged young people not to be educated so that they could only be employed, but to be entrepreneurs. “Young as you are, you can determine your comfortable early retirement and start to enjoy life while your businesses are running. You can only achieve that if you start your own establishment now,” said Dreyer. He motivated participants of the workshop by showing how easy it was to become rich if they were focused. “Young people should always dream big and work hard to achieve what they want in life and should play a role in the fight against po-verty, while participating in the growth of the country’s economy,” he said.

Guests learned the steps needed to create a successful businesses as opposed to relying on tenders. Dreyer encouraged them to consider investing in property as an easier way to build an empire.

Author and founder of Afri8, Kholofelo Pholafudi, shared his experience in business with guests, explaining how easy it was to have an idea, but fail to make it work due to a lack of creative thinking.

“People say they do not have capital to start a business, forgetting that you can make millions from an empty bank balance using creative thinking,” he said.

Humbulani Sadiki attended the workshop and said it was one of the best he has ever been part of.
