POLOKWANE – The Laerskool Pietersburg Oos (Oosskool) junior tennis team bumped heads with a Mitchell House team during friendly games that were played at the Polokwane Tennis Club courts last Monday afternoon.

The two schools competed in singles and doubles. Suené Forrester, event organiser, said they wanted to build good relations between the two schools. “Four boys and four girls from the two schools played for fun. Players competed in singles where each player competed for themselves. The teams later competed in doubles representing their respective teams or schools,” Forrester explained.

She added that players had a lot of fun and they were all committed to their games as if they were playing in a big tournament. She further said the friendly games were used as an exercise for learners to keep fit and stay healthy.

Oosskool’s girls team made Mitchell House eat their dust after winning the game 35-6. Oosskool’s boys’ team also proved to be on top of their game as they defeated Mitchell House with a score of 21-20.

The two schools played well without any arguments or misunderstandings, parents also came to cheer and support their children.
