Mitchell House welcomes cricket academy to the school’s fold

Last Wednesday Mitchell House officially opened the new cricket field and welcomed The Cricket Academy to the school.

POLOKWANE – Last Wednesday Mitchell House officially opened the new cricket field and welcomed The Cricket Academy to the school.

The coaches of The Cricket Academy will offer professional cricket coaching at Mitchell House.

The Cricket Academy was founded in 2005 in Cape Town and is currently in its 10th year of operation.

It currently operates at Western Province Cricket Club in Rondebosch and at Claremont Cricket Club in Constantia.

Frederick Romijn sports coordinator from The Cricket Academy said the academy will offer several coaching packages including “private coaching, one-on-one sessions with a coach for an hour, shared private coaching for up to three cricketers with a coach for an hour, and mini coaching, a 90 minute group session for gr. R to 3 learners with a maximum of six cricketers per group, at Mitchell House”.

Mitchell House head, Andrew Cook, said the school would like to thank The Cricket Academy for approaching them.

“We also want to thank our Parents’ Association for the contributions that made this possible at our school.

“We hope that other cricketers in the province will be interested and enrol for classes as this academy is not only for Mitchell House learners. It is open for everyone who wants to play cricket.”
