Top T20 award for Don Radebe

Don Radebe wins Cricket South Africa award, rising from near-retirement to being the first Limpopo Impala player to receive such an award.

POLOKWANE – Limpopo Impalas pace bowler Don Radebe, was honoured with the Men’s T20 Knockout Player of the Season award at the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Awards, held in Gauteng on September 4.

Radebe, who led the bowling charts with 30 wickets in the CSA T20 Challenge, was recognised for his consistent performances in high-pressure moments, playing a pivotal role in his team’s success.

Sakkie Mabala Kwakwa, the president of the Limpopo Impala Cricket Board, expressed pride in Radebe’s achievement, saying that he is the first player from Limpopo Impala Cricket to receive a major CSA award.

“We congratulate him on this incredible feat. He was discovered in NkowaNkowa and is a product of our development structures. He recently signed a two-season contract with us, and his journey demonstrates that hard work, determination, and perseverance always pay off.”

Reflecting on his win, Radebe shared his gratitude and encouraged young cricketers not to lose hope.

“Many people don’t know, but two years ago, I almost gave up on cricket after losing my contract and being cut from the system. This award is proof that you can come back stronger after setbacks, and I hope it inspires others to never give up on their dreams, no matter how hard it gets,” he said.
