Noordelikes III confident ahead of rugby final

Noordelikes third team gears up to face Louis Trichardt in the Limpopo North Region final, confident after a dominant semi-final win.

POLOKWANE – The third team of Noordelikes Rugby Club is gearing up for their shot at the Limpopo North Region Blue Bulls Rugby League title when they face Louis Trichardt Rugby Club in the final on September 7 in Louis Trichardt.

The team enters the final brimming with confidence after a dominant 34-5 victory over Blouberg Rugby Club in the semi-finals, played on August 30 at Noordelikes’ home ground in Ladanna.

Key players Humphrey Mudau, Chrisjan Muller, Hendrie van Niekerk, Andile Dzanava, Mandagane Cindi, and Ayden Dresse were instrumental in securing the win, each contributing a try to lead their side to victory.

While Noordelikes’ first and second teams fell short of making it to the finals after losing to Louis Trichardt and Potties Rugby Clubs respectively, the third team remains focused on bringing home the trophy.

Head coach Adam Adams expressed his pride in guiding the team to the final.

“At the beginning of the season, I told your readers that our goal is to win the league, and that mindset still holds for Saturday. It’s an incredible feeling to reach the finals, a testament to the hard work of the players and the technical team. Louis Trichardt is a strong side, and we narrowly lost to them by two points last season, but this time we’ve rectified our mistakes. We have a solid structure and a strategy to go on the offensive.”

Noordelikes rugby director Johan van Ravesteyn echoed Adams’ optimism.

“We are confident that we’ll lift the trophy after Saturday’s match. We’ve had a strong season and while there’s still work to be done, we believe in our team’s ability to bring the title home,” he said.

Van Ravesteyn added that the team will be accompanied by loyal supporters, who are expected to add to the excitement of the day.

As the third team prepares to face off against their rivals, the entire club hopes to celebrate a hard-fought victory and end the season on a high note.
