The Boy Mamabolo Foundation is nurturing young soccer talent, providing kits and support to local primary schools.

POLOKWANE – Boy Mamabolo Foundation is dedicated to nurturing young soccer talent and fostering a love for the game among South Africa’s youth.

Since 2020, the foundation has been actively involved in soccer development through its Sympathy’s soccer programme.

Recently, the foundation donated soccer kits to local primary schools participating in the Boy Mamabolo Primary Schools Mini League.

The schools that received kits include Alf Makaleng, Rev MP Malatjie, CM Sehlapelo, Boiketlo Samuel, Thema Dorothy Langa, Snell Phoshoko and New Look Primary School. These kits were generously provided by Lebowa Funerals and printed by LNP Brand.

The Mini League, which runs until September 4, has attracted attention from local celebrities, including Skeem Saam actors Eunice, Letetswe Kunutu, Paxton Kgomo, and Serite Paleng.

The league’s winners will receive R10 000, while other participating schools will be awarded R3 000 each to support Gr 7 farewell functions.

Skeem Saam actor Paxton Kgomo addresses the learners from Rev MP Malatjie Primary School.

The programme not only encourages young learners to enjoy soccer but also helps them develop their skills and lead healthy lives. Foundation chairperson Boy Mamabolo, highlighted the importance of sport in the mental and physical development of the youth.

“By giving learners the chance to play soccer and participate in sport, we are enhancing their growth and helping them improve their skills. Our goal is to provide role models for children and keep them away from substance abuse.”

Doris Langa Primary School principal, Matlou Hlako, praised the foundation’s contribution.

“The new kits have motivated our players immensely. They now arrive at games looking like a professional team, which boosts their confidence and performance. We are grateful for this support from the Boy Mamabolo Foundation.”

He also expressed hope that the foundation might extend its support to educational materials and teaching resources.

The Boy Mamabolo Foundation remains committed to developing soccer from an early age, providing a platform to identify and nurture future stars and contributing positively to the community.
