Limpopo Netball scouts at Boy Mamabolo tourney

They will be having teams from the Polokwane local cluster and other teams representing the Capricorn, Vhembe, Mopani and Sekhukhune districts.

POLOKWANE – The Limpopo Netball Association will send their scouts to the Boy Mamabolo Netball Challenge set for Seshego next month.

The tournament will see junior and senior teams from the Limpopo Netball Association battling it out for top honours from December 15-17 at the Seshego netball courts.

The scouts from the association will be in the area to assess the talent with the intention of adding more players to the Lillies and Baobabs netball teams.

Rose Mamabolo, the deputy chairperson of the Polokwane Netball Association said they aim to cast the netball net wide and give players in the various spheres the opportunity to showcase their talent.

“Boy Mamabolo tournaments were synonymous with soccer in the past. So this year there will be netball for the first time. Some of the national and provincial players including Kubara Abubakar and Nthabiseng Mothutsi will be in action at the tournament. We will be having teams from the Polokwane local cluster and other teams representing the Capricorn, Vhembe, Mopani and Sekhukhune districts. The people of Seshego must come in their droves and witness truly amazing talent.”

Mamabolo added that they hope the selectors will choose some of the players from the teams.

“We want to give everyone a chance to be part of the Lillies and Baobabs, and the tourney will provide players with an opportunity to prove themselves in the netball courts.”
