Local star Kutumela joins Cape Town City FC

Thabiso Kutumela was a key striker for Bafana Bafana at the 2016 edition of the Council of Southern Africa Football Association.

POLOKWANE – Local soccer star, Thabiso Kutumela joined Premier Soccer League outfit Cape Town City on August 16 from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kutumela played for Baroka Football Club and local teams in Seshego and Mankweng before joining Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United in 2018 and 2021 respectively.

The 30-year-old was a member of the South Africa’s u/23 team at the 2016 Summer Olympics held in Brazil and also represented the South African senior team at the international tournaments.

In the 2015/16 season Kutumela was bestowed with the National First Division top goal scorer award after he helped Baroka gain the Premier Soccer League title.

Kutumela had scored 18 goals throughout the season and was a key striker for Bafana Bafana at the 2016 edition of the Council of Southern Africa Football Association.

He is expected to be in the team’s line-up when they travel to Gueteng for a match with Orlando Pirates.
