Limpopo basketball team brags with new kit

A handover prior to their participation in a tournament in Bushbuckridge was also the official announcement that the sponsor will collaborate with the team going forward.

POLOKWANE – To give back to his basketball community, former player of the Limpopo Basketball Association and owner of Rivoningo Farming, Cecil Nkhwashu sponsored the team with new basketball jerseys and shorts.

Hosted by the Bushbuckridge Basketball Association, the men and women’s teams competed in the first annual tournament at the Lovelife Youth Centre in Bushbuckridge Acornhoek on Saturday.

The handover prior to the trip was also the official announcement that the sponsor will collaborate with the team going forward.

The secretary of the association, Phetolo Mahana said the handover was specifically meant for the association’s u/23 high performance team and the official launch of the project as a development strategy to sustain players from 18 years of age and upwards. Manager at the Department of Sport, Chumu Malatjie was also present to support the team.

“As a former player, I wanted to make sure that my home team has everything before they left for the competition, as I know the feeling of not having enough gear to go compete with. I’m proud to say I’ll support the team as much as I can, because they’ve grown to be family and I want only the best for them,” Nkhwashu said.
