POLOKWANE – This weekend saw a number of the city’s young tennis players compete in the TSA Baobab ProKennex Mini 3 Tournament, hosted at the Polokwane Tennis Club.

Players in this tournament, hosted in Limpopo only four times a year, come from as far as Gauteng to accumulate points in order to improve their national ranking.

Along with the TSA tournament, a Rainbow Kidz event at the same venue on Saturday ensured that the beginner players were taught the ropes of tennis by learning new skills and playing some informal matches, with the help of officials. This event is traditionally supported by a myriad of young players from across the city’s schools, in their journey on getting to know the game of tennis.

“We also want to use this opportunity to thank the Polokwane Municipality for making the courts available for a tournament of this nature. Players potentially play for three days, and it shows the huge potential there is among the youth in terms of tennis. We hope that the next tournament will also see the turnout we experienced this weekend.”
