The course was aimed at enhancing the skills of coaches at development level and to align themselves with the latest coaching methods.

Walter Steenbok, Safa technical director, said coaching youths is an important pathway for any elite player.

“We have invited our junior national team coaches, coaches who are in the provinces, universities and club football to be part of this exercise. The course will give us the opportunity to increase the number of youth coaches in the country to align with Safa’s vision of youth talent development and identification.”

Molekwane said he gained much-needed knowledge through the course.

“Knowledge is power and this was a big opportunity for me. I learned a lot about teamwork, dedication, perseverance and healthy lifestyles. I learned how to become a good coach and how to produce better players. This is the course that will help us to harness the power of football, to secure the future strength and success of the game. My vision is to coach a top football team in the country and I think I am on the right track.”
