Tokon karatekas impress with skills at local tourney

The tournament was attended by karate clubs from Rustenburg, Brits, Pretoria, Mokopane and Polokwane.

POLOKWANE – Tokon Samurai Karate Polokwane, an affiliate of Tskkia International recently hosted its first tournament for 2023 in Polokwane.

The tourney was attended by karate clubs from Rustenburg, Brits, Pretoria, Mokopane and Polokwane.

The events included kata, kumite and kendo, which was a first for Polokwane karate.

Fazlin Jardien, owner of Tokon Samurai Karate Polokwane said she is proud that all the teams performed exceptionally well and it has set the stage for many more challenging tournaments to come.

“Thank you to all the Polokwane residents who came out to support the participants and the event, we appreciate your effort. Our next challenge will be on May 6 in Pretoria in Goju Ryu style, the opposite of Shotokan but both date back to the origin of karate in Okinawa.”
