The club’s vice-president, Rob Anderson was glad to announce his pride in the hard work put in by participants who among themselves had to compete for the entire season, facing various selection processes in order to reach the provincial contention.

As is the norm in swimming that each swimmer is carefully timed in their lane for vetting; those who did it under the most minimal time received various medals, that qualified them into the second level of swimmers. The medal presentation was held later the day.

“We feel many of them have received sufficient abilities to go to the next stages and that is why we are awarding more medals this year. In this group we are confident that through consistency, they can reach international swimming stages and do very much beyond stars such as Chad le Clos. Some come from as far as Phalaborwa, Musina, Louis Trichardt and Bela-Bela,” Anderson said.
