Limpopo team aim for a gold at Indigenous Games

The National Indigenous Games include kgati, morabaraba, diketo, intonga, jukskei, ncuva, khokho, drie stokkies and dibeke and the Limpopo team say they are confident they'll return with gold.

POLOKWANE – The team set to represent Limpopo at the National Indigenous Games is aiming for gold medals across the board.

The games are set to begin on Thursday (September 29) at the Ugu Sport Centre in KwaZulu-Natal.

The group will compete with other provincial teams in kgati, morabaraba, diketo, intonga, jukskei, ncuva, khokho, drie stokkies and dibeke.

The team was selected during the provincial leg of the games at the Polokwane Cricket Club in August.

“We have a balanced team and all the districts are represented in all the codes.We won a gold medal for khokho in 2019 in Durban.We have a strong team comprising of young and experienced players that have participated in the event before,” Jermina Kaka, deputy director of Communications at Department Sport, Arts and Culture said.

Kaka added that the team is extremely confident in their respective codes and the experience they have and that they have been working hard and have the potential and capacity to bring home gold medals.
