Malesela returns to the helm of Marumo Gallants
Marumo Gallants spokesperson Rufus Matsena said Dan Malesela understands the culture of the club and knows 90% of the players in the team.
POLOKWANE – Marumo Gallants recalled Dan Malesela to their technical bench on September 20 following the resignation of coach Romain Folz earlier this month.
Malesela left Gallants last season to the Premier Soccer League outfit Royal AM after the expiration of his contract earlier this year.
Marumo Gallants spokesperson Rufus Matsena said the decision to recall Malesela is because he understands the culture of the club and he knows 90% of the players in the team.
“We are aware of our position in the league and believe he can turn things around for us. We could have chosen any other coach but we strongly feel he is the right man for the job.”
Malesela will be in charge of the team when they travel to Nelspruit on October 4 for a date with TS Galaxy.
Marumo Gallants chairman Abram Sello said tt was fortunate that Malesela was a free agent at the same time Gallants were seeking a new head coach.
“The decision was made to welcome him back to the Marumo Gallants family following discussions among the club. We look forward to the upcoming games with much anticipation and a positive outlook.”
