POLOKWANE – A total of 200 entries were received from Mpumalanga, Gauteng and Limpopo to make the two-day event one to remember.
The world-class facility was opened in May and over the weekend, 100 horses were on show.
Various businesses in and around the area were on board to make the day a success, as they donated prizes.
The competition proved to be strong for both rider and horse.
In the first phase of the 1.1m A2 competition Jaili Nicalaou on Synopsis won first place while Willie Nel on King Bling ended in second place.
In the 1.2m A2 competition Caitlin Rennie competed on Callaho Castino and won first place, followed by Christie Els and Sunwillow Hudson in second place.
Nicalaou, who is part of The Ranch Resort’s management team, said it was a day filled with excitement and healthy competitiveness.
“Horses performed well and we welcomed competitors from other provinces. They were ready to compete and the competition brought out the best in everyone. Whether they were observing or took part in the competition, everyone had a good time.”
