Bodybuilder Seitz outmuscles his opponents

Local fitness enthusiast Konrad Seitz was crowned the winner of the Limpopo Bodybuilding Competition on August 7.

POLOKWANE – The 34-year-old bodybuilder from Polokwane beat myriads of bodybuilders who competed at Meropa Casino and Entertainment World.

Seitz’s win means that he will represent the province at the national event of the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness set to take place in Gauteng in September.

He attributed his victory to the dedication he has shown and the sacrifices he has made since he took up the sport.

“It was the first time I entered the competition and I was surprised when the judges announced me as the winner. I am happy that I will be able to compete at the nationals and hope to do well there,” Seitz said.

He thanked his wife for her support throughout his bodybuilding journey. “Bodybuilding is difficult and requires a certain of level of discipline, intense training and eating a specific diet, and my wife was there to help with everything.”

Seitz shared that he changed his lifestyle in preparation for the competition. “I had to train two times a day, drink seven liters of water and eat seven meals a day in order to maintain my physique. I had to eat a lot of protein which included rice, chicken and a lot of eggs. It was difficult to prepare for the event but I am glad my efforts were fruitful.”

He urged young people to never give up and to give it their all in the sporting codes they participate in. Seitz said he will start his preparations for the national event, in the third week of August. “I just need to rest a bit and thereafter I will start with the preparations. I can’t say I will win the national event but it will be great if I do.”
