Another successful Rotary golf day

The long-awaited Rotary Club of Pietersburg 100 annual golf day took place last Friday with 132 players.

POLOKWANE – The cold breeze at the Polokwane Golf Club did not deter the players to play some scintillating golf in a two-ball scramble better-ball format.

Randall Jooste played nearest to the pin at the fourth hole while Divan van den Heever played nearest to the pin at hole eight. Nearest to the pin on hole 11 was played by Hein Schulenberg, while Andrew Galloway played nearest to the pin at hole 16.

Piet Fourie played the longest drive on the second hole, while Van den Heever played the longest drive on hole 18. According to Naas Vorster from Rotary Club of Pietersburg 100, the golf day is hosted annually to raise money to help those in need. “Thank you to each and every player, sponsor and supporter. We cannot wait for next year.”

Winners:

1. Johan Bouwer and Oppies Opperman with 54 points.

2. Mario Janse van Rensburg and Charles Olivier with 49 points.

3. Butch Martens and Jaco Pietersen with 48 points.
