Gradecki wins the fourth edition of the Limpopo Golf Championship

Polish golfer Mateusz Gradecki won the fourth edition of the Limpopo Golf Championship hosted by Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) at Euphoria Golf and Lifestyle Estate in Mookgophong.

POLOKWANE – On April 3 Gradecki beat 216 golfers who participated in the event after he secured a bogey-free 66 and finished on 19 under par while South African golfer Henk Du Plessis finished in the second position with 16 under par and a final round of 70.

The event was preceded by a Pro-Am, which provided a perfect opportunity for amateurs to interact with professionals and gain more knowledge while they improve on their technique in the sport.

Gradecki said he just just wanted to keep doing the same things he has been doing throughout the tournament.

“I knew I was playing well and I just needed to keep calm and stay in the moment. I knew my game was good enough to do it. I’m really pleased with the way I played.”

Andrew Dipela, chairperson of Limpopo Tourism Agency Board, said LTA is excited that the event, co-sanctioned by Sunshine Tour and European Challenge Tour has put Limpopo on the world’s pedestal, which will help market the destination and thus gave it more traction than anticipated.

“Since its launch in 2019, Limpopo Championship has grown in bounds as a full lifestyle golf spectacle to showcase Limpopo’s tourist attractions to local and international markets and offer great entertainment and hospitality.”

He added that the event continues to attract golf players and enthusiasts from various countries. “Limpopo is is on the right path to become a leading tourism destination in Southern Africa. We are also excited as this tournament will host the inaugural Youth Championship in June 2022.”
