Eagles soar high after Giyani win

Giyani Cricket Club continued their low-scoring season with a nine-wicket loss to Eagles Cricket Club on Sunday.

POLOKWANE – The teams played at the PHS Oval in a Premier League match in which Eagles won the toss and elected to field first.

Giyani managed a total of 72 runs before they were bowled out in the 27th over. Eagles’ Hanno van Zyl was the pick of the bowlers with a five-wicket haul for just 13 runs in his nine overs, of which four were maidens.

Theo Janse van Rensburg was the standout batsman with 53 runs not out off 23 balls. Janse van Rensburg’s innings included eight fours and two sixes as Eagles lost only one wicket in their 7.4 overs they spent on the field.
