Businesses can have a bowl of a time

Polokwane Bowls Club plans to start a business league where local companies can challenge each other, on a social or competitive level.

POLOKWANE – Secretary of Polokwane Bowls Club, Evelyn Cloete said plans are at an advanced stage to start a business bowls league which will see local business entities and companies challenging each other, on a social or competitive level at the club.

Cloete said the core objective of the league is to strengthen relations with businesses in Polokwane and give them an opportunity to play and learn the sport.

She called on all bowling enthusiasts to join them for evening bowls every Wednesday at the club. “We started the games in September and social bowlers are welcome to join us between 17:30 and 18:00. Game fees are R30.

“We have a cash bar available and food is also sold on these days at the club for the convenience of the players. We have spare sets of bowls as well for those who do not have.”

She said the club will host the Limpopo singles competition on October 17 and the finals will be on October 23 and 24.

She further announced that the Limpopo trials will start in November where players from across Limpopo play to be selected for the inter provincial teams that will compete in March 2022 against the other districts.
