LFA proud of junior fencers’ accolades

Limpopo Fencing Association (LFA) chairperson Renuka Ramroop said she is proud of the strides made by their junior fencers who won various accolades during a recent provincial fencing tournament.

POLOKWANE – Ramroop said eight fencers from the association walked away with gold, silver and bronze medals.

“Some were competing for the first time and they did well. They did not get stage fright, but seized the moment and won.”

She added that their key objective is to have more junior fencers in the association, to develop them and help them to reach their full potential.

“We are ultimately aiming to have a fencing school league. The numbers are gradually growing and that is encouraging.”

The event saw Alaan Moti winning a gold medal in the u/13 mixed epee event, while Joshua Joubert and Iihaam Moham settled for silver and bronze medals respectively.

Moti, who dominated the junior event also won a gold medal in the u/15 mixed epee event.

Zahraan Kika Bham won silver while Joshua Joubert and Iihaam Moham shared the bronze medal.
