VFA prepared for Cosmos clash at Thohoyandou Stadium today

Venda Football Academy (VFA) will hope to grab all three points against struggling Jomo Cosmos.

LIMPOPO – The 2021/2022 GladAfrica Championship season is well underway and Limpopo-based teams are in search of points.

Venda Football Academy (VFA) will hope to grab all three points against struggling Jomo Cosmos when the two sides play at the Thohoyandou Stadium today at 15:00.

VFA’s last match was a goalless draw against Polokwane City, and the team is under pressure to claim maximum points if they want to be promoted to the top flight next season.

Their coach, Johnny Ferreira, said they know the importance of the game and hopes that home ground advantage counts in their favour.

“We know that playing at home is always an advantage. The main thing will be our execution on the day. Previous results and what we have done in the past will not determine the outcome of the match. I believe the boys will be ready, and that they are not going to disappoint.”

VFA will travel to the Richards Bay Stadium on Saturday to face Richards Bay.

Meanwhile, fellow Vhembe-based outfit Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) will be the next team to vow for three points against Cosmos when the sides meet at the Tsakane Stadium in Brakpan on Saturday.

Black Leopards will also hope to grab a win against the University of Pretoria at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

Leopards head coach Morgan Shivambu said his team is ready to absorb the heat that comes with the match. He said all their players were injury-free, and added that he is aware that it will not be an easy match as both teams have a lot to play for in the encounter.

“We are ready for the occasion. We know the University of Pretoria’s strengths and weaknesses and we will capitalise on their mistakes,” Shivambu said.
