Sport MEC wishes PSL clubs well in the new season

Sport MEC Thandi Moraka believes Limpopo's soccer teams have the ability to win trophies.

POLOKWANE – Moraka paid Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams Baroka FC and Marumo Gallants FC a visit prior to the kick off of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season, which commenced on August 21.

Moraka and her team visited the club’s training sessions to engage the players as well as the management.

“Our wish is to see them do well in the league and win some of the trophies. We don’t want to see them fight relegation all the time, but rather see them do well in their campaign. Our people love the clubs and we believe they will do well in the league,” Moraka said.

On August 19 the MEC visited the Tafelkop and Monsterlus stadiums in the Sekhukhune area to evaluate the viability of the two facilities hosting PSL matches for the two Sekhukhune based sides, Gallants and Sekhukhune United FC.

Baroka started the season with three points as they beat Gallants 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba Sports Complex on August 21. Bafana Bafana striker Evidence Makgopa and Mozambican international Emmanuel Kampala scored the winning goals for the Ga-Mphahlele-based side.
