Limpopo league in full swing

A battle of focus, determination and their golfing ability unfolded at the Polokwane Golf Club on Saturday.

POLOKWANE – Local golfers took to the fairways to take on golfers from Kameeldoring Golf Club in Mokopane in the provincial league. Drakensig golfers from Hoedspruit did not show up on the day.

The league is divided into two pools. Pool A consists of Polokwane, Kameeldoring and Drakensig, while Pool B is made up of Polokwane, Kameeldoring, Thabazimbi and Zebula.

Polokwane golfer Desi Earle explained that each team hosts a home game.

“The past weekend was our club’s home game. Twenty men and 24 ladies took part on the day. It was great to be back for the first time in over a year and a half without playing league matches,” she added.

Earle said the men’s league is played in a better-ball match play format while the ladies’ league is played in individual match play format.

Fixtures for the rest of the league is yet to be confirmed. Meanwhile, 94 golfers participated in the club day which was also played in a better-ball format.
